23 Wallace

Messengers of the Duchy came on deck.

The way they were dressed gave us an indication of their high status.

The manner in which they addressed us was clearly arrogant, and as they touched their own trimmed beards, they declared.

''Let's help the children of the baronial family and above. We are not interested in lesser knightly children. The same goes for sub-human slaves. Of course, we don't need this airship or its sailors.

While most of them had despairing expressions on their faces, it was the students of the advanced classes who were relieved.

The subraces seemed to have something to complain about.

 One of the girls.

Well, wait a minute! My personal servants need help!

The messenger replied to the girl with contempt.

The messenger replied to the girl with contempt: "Then you will go down with your mistress. You can't be bothered to take hostages with slaves. Well, if you're going to show your spirit as a nobleman, it would be better to sink here. But you can't do that with a crusty kingdom nobleman.

The one who went before such a messenger was Angier. I have a bad feeling about this.

''What the hell, you little b*tc*.''

 Angier's attitude was imposing.

''........Redgrave. Angelica Rafa Redgrave. You at least know my family name.

 The dukes are famous anyway.

Even the quintessential messenger was surprised with his eyes, but he immediately smiled.

''I didn't expect that the duke's daughter would be on board.......the kingdom is really dumb. To send such an important person on a journey without an escort.''

 The messenger extends his hand.

'Now, how did you come forward? Perhaps you think we're going to bow down to that name?

Angel let out a small breath as the messenger said he wasn't afraid of your family name. At the sight of something prepared, the boys held me down from my back as I tried to step forward.

''Ha, let go! Do you guys have any idea what the hell you're doing!

I struggle, but a bunch of people hold me down.

The messenger who was watching me nodded his head.

'Who are you?'

 Angier replies.

'....my friend.

'How very friendly of you.

I try to get up as fast as I can, and fists and kicks fly at me.

'Oh, you guys!'

'Do you intend to waste Lady Angelica's kindness? You shut up!

Ange's cronies beat me and cut me in the mouth. The taste of blood spread in my mouth.

If you knew that, stop it........

 As expected, Angier says.

''You wouldn't say the duchess is worthless, would you? Take me hostage and save everyone's lives.

As the messenger stroked his beard.

Good point. Well, I'll talk to you later when I get back.

 Then Olivia raised her voice.

'Angel!'

The subraces around her were seizing Olivia.

'Ha, please let go. Angel, don't go!

Olivia was the only one who reached out to her. As she was being taken away, Angel turned and smiled. Her legs were trembling a little.

''--Livia, thank you.''

Then they put me in the boat that the messengers had come in and just left.

I was kicked hard and rolled on the deck.

When I pressed my stomach, Olivia-san ran up to me and covered for me.

'Mr. Rion!'

The boys and their personal servants who look down on me that's not good. I've earned too much resentment.

'You could have made it all go to waste.
You stupid aristocrat.
Hey, sailor. Throw this guy in jail.

A crowd of sailors has gathered around me.

The airship of the duchy - in a building built on top of a monster, Angier was surrounded by knights in the noble room.

 Facing her was Princess Hertrude.

''Angelica, can I say it's been a long time? Well, we only greet each other.

 Angier smiled wryly.

''Are you seriously going to wage a war with the power of a duchy? This one won't be more than a skirmish.

There is a huge difference in national power between the kingdom and the duchy.

Angier knew that, but inwardly he was a bit impatient.

(These guys, what the hell do they want? (Have you gained anything to close the national power gap?)

Hertrude replied with a downcast look.

─ Yes, but it doesn't matter what the national power difference is. But it doesn't matter what the national power difference is. 'You didn't see what was going on out there?'

You have a monster in tow. Is that enough to win the kingdom?

I'm going to win.

Then someone who seemed to be a heavyweight at his side interrupted Hertrude.

'Your Highness, more importantly, that luxury liner.

Oh, yes, it was.

 Angier glares at him.

'Wouldn't you have missed it with my surrender?

'I've been thinking about that too, but... Angelica, did the messenger say he was going to help?

At Hertrude's words, Angier closed his eyes.

 But

I've been thinking, doesn't it seem like you'd be enough on your own?

What...

The knights surrounded Angelica with their swords pointed at her in amazement.

 Hertrude speaks plainly.

'I heard that when you were taken away, you were the two who resisted? What heartless children of the nobility! No nobleman's grit, no justice. What do we need such men for?

What are you talking about?

Angelica, I want you to see it all. I want you to see your kingdom fall from here.

A messenger heads to the airship where the students of the school are boarding to tell them.

I was thrown into a cell and I sat down and looked up at the ceiling.

Behind the bars, Olivia is crying.

I begged her to let me out, but she couldn't, and now she's grabbing the bars and sobbing.

'Don't cry anymore,'

"Because. It's like Angel is going to sacrifice one of us. Leon was hurt and I couldn't do anything about it.

Ugly and disgusting - or so I might have thought in the past. In a previous life, I wouldn't like these characters.

But wouldn't it be great to be able to cry for someone else?

It was Chris who would come to such a place.

Chris came with a sad face, and when he came to the front of the jail, he ignored Olivia-san and spoke to me.

'Baldfalt--A messenger arrived just now. Angelica is enough for a hostage. He told me to prepare myself.

He said they would attack again in an hour, and seemed to be laughing at him, telling him to show them a final spectacular scattering.

The students, the sailors, and the sub-race are apparently desperate.

''So ... so? What do you want me to do?

I had a bad feeling about it.

And yet, I think the cronies should be ashamed of themselves for handing over Angier.

 Chris took off his glasses.

'I need a hand. I've heard there's at least six pieces of armor on this ship. You and I need to buy some time for the ship to get out of here.

 I snickered.

'I hate it.'

Chris narrowed his eyes, but didn't blame me.

'Bend over there, please. We can't all die here. You can be the airship's escort. I'll stay here.

This is not a number that can be suppressed by that. No matter how much armor you have, you can't take on tens of thousands of monsters. It's not even Chris who doesn't know about it.

''.......Rion-san.

Olivia looks at me. It's a look that says I could do something about it.

Her pure, beautiful eyes are scary. I'm afraid she's going to see through everything....

Don't look at me like that. What do you expect me to do? Help the students who left Angier to die in the first place? You make me laugh. And you're going to beat the crap out of me. Let's all sink it.

I swore and Chris surprisingly agreed.

'Yeah, I guess so. We can't do anything about it, we might as well sink and return to the sea instead of the earth. But I'm still going to ask you for help. It's possible this is the way. Please ... help us.

I slowly stand up in front of Chris, who bows his head to me.

''--I decline,''

 Chris raised his head sadly.

'Well I'm sorry. I'm sorry to have disturbed you.

I stopped Chris as he turned to leave.

'You idiot. Listen to the end of the story. There's no way you can escape from the siege in the first place. Even if you stay, you'll be surrounded. You haven't learned anything from your fight with me.

In terms of the strategy game, it's like starting out in a jam-packed situation.

 Chris turns around.

'Then what do we do! What do you have in mind for this situation? If you're going to run away by yourself, go ahead. I'm not going to stop you.

 ...I'm a hardheaded person.

I'm not the smartest person in the world either, but you're clumsier than me and that's sad. Do you want me to cry?

 That's a good thing.

You can't fight him alone. You can't do it with me. Then we'll have to do it together. Those fools who abandoned Angier will be held accountable for their actions. Look, I'm not good enough to help a guy who won't do anything.

''I can't do it. Everyone is so desperate that they can't even get up. Besides, in times like these I was trying to turn to you, Baltfart, you're the one I was trying to turn to. You know what I mean?

What Chris is trying to say is that the other guys are useless.

I agree vehemently, but we have to make those scum work for us.

I put my face close to the side of the bars. Chris comes close, and our noses are almost touching.

'We can't distribute our forces any more. If we can do it as one, the best way to do it is through the front door.

Front? You're the dumbest person I know.

Yeah, it's stupid. But I think it's smarter than just waiting to die. Look, let's take their banner in reverse. I'll breach the siege in an open field.

Chris gasped as sweat trickled down his cheeks.

'You guard the ship. This is where you'll show off your swordsmanship.

Chris says with a drawn-out smile.

'I don't remember bragging about it,'

'In the eyes of the world, your actions are the same as bragging about it. Show me the fruits of your efforts. Think of all you've built up to this day. I'm not going to die. You want to live too, don't you?

At those words, Chris looked down and thought - and looked up.

''Well that's true. I want to see Marie's smile.

...and he got the last drop.

You're not really brainwashed, are you?

What do you like about him?

Chris opens the cell with a key and I get out. I reach out to Olivia, who sat down.

'You'll have to help me,'

'Yes, sir! I'll do my best!

Olivia wiped away her tears and stood up, her expression tightening. She seems to be planning to do her best to save Angier.

.........She said this one is definitely better than Marie.

Chris, you need to wake up too.

As I was thinking that, Chris put his hand on his chest and muttered.

'Marie, I'm going to see your smile again. Help me to do that.

There was an amulet in his hand.

'Oh, that,'

This one? I bought it at a festival and it was in there. It was said to be a good luck charm for martial arts. Now that I think about it, it was a good omen.

A little talisman of a shield and sword.

I laughed. I was glad that the items had been passed on to the one who should have them the most.

'Oh, they're a good fit. You're the luckiest guy I've ever met.

Yeah, right. You're kind of embarrassing me, aren't you?

.... no, don't be embarrassed by your cheeks. You'll have a hard time reacting.

Chris calls out to a room where representatives of the students and sailors have gathered.

I come to the hall and I'm holding a shotgun that I purchased from a sailor on the way there.

Many of them are lying face down in despair.

I check the shotshell - the shotgun shell - and see Chris making a speech in the center of the stairs in the hall.

I sit down on the stairs and look at the faces of the people gathered there as well.

''I've decided that the only way to save everyone is to fight. Everyone, help me out.

The voice that is hurled at Chris is cursing.

'Don't get carried away, a year!
You're not as strong as you think you are, so why are you so bossy?
"You've been beaten by that a**h*le over there!

I glared at the boy who called me a rubbish bastard, and he sneaked away and hid. But I've memorized his face and I'll get back at him later. Absolutely!

This situation where they are in third grade to first grade.

And they may be about to die.

Some of the guys were so blatant that their usual pecking order meant nothing. The boys in the regular class laughed.

They say they are going to fight. Senior class boys are so high and mighty, aren't they? Do you think everyone will listen to you if you give them orders?
"Commanding officer.
In the first place, you know... he's bastardized and has no authority, right?

The same goes for the girls. But our resident servants are arguing with the girls.

'Hey, follow your orders!

May, girl! How can I obey your orders after all this time!

I sat up from the stairs in this place that was getting noisy.

As I carried my shotgun, all eyes were on me.

'Rattling May, you scum,'

The audience is silent in front of me with a weapon. Their eyes are filled with emotions like fear and hatred.

Listen to me. I'm a knight with an official baronetcy. I'm sure you'll be able to find a great deal more to say about it. Do you understand?

 The teachers averted their gaze.

The shadowy teachers were still aristocrats in one way or another. However, their status is not high.

If you're at least the headmaster of the school, you're probably in a higher position than me, but other than that, you're in a lower position than me.

Is it only the master? Who's better than me?

Well, I respect that man as a person. I wouldn't be smart enough to be above him.

"I'm gonna give you guys a run for your money. Fight. Fight to the death.

Naturally, someone opens their mouth in response to my objections.

'Huh, don't be silly! You guys fight!

I carry the shotgun on my shoulder.

'Huh?' You're d*mn right I will. We'll fight. You're a nobleman. Did you know that? Aristocrats are the descendants of the adventurers who once served.

They whisper and whisper and make fun of me for whispering something that everyone knows is a big deal.

'Did he hit his head or something?'
That's not a given.
'Look, he's an idiot. I just found out recently and I want to brag to everyone about it.

 They're frustrated girls.

'What? Did you know that? It's a lie~. Because if you knew, you'd be too embarrassed to imitate being shaken and frightened, wouldn't you? Could it be that you knew and were despairing here? Hey ... aren't you embarrassed?

All of them had a look on their face, wondering what this guy was talking about.

The unrelated resident servants and sailors looking up at me.

'I have found the land after a deadly voyage. Sometimes we have challenged dungeons to gain treasure, and many of us have died. The descendants of adventurers who have always fought and fought, are stuck in this level of backwardness? Aren't you guys ashamed of your ancestors?

Some people complain about it, but I ignore them.

'Oh, I'm sorry. They were all pussies, weren't they? This is just what the emissaries of the Duchy say. It's useless to expect anything from you guys. But still, I'm sure your ancestors will be very sad.

I make a belly laughing gesture.

'I'm sure he's like, 'My offspring is too weak, wow!'

Wallos is an internet term from a previous life. It's a laugh, which is why it gradually changed to Wallace, but of course the people in front of you don't know what it means.

It's just that - sometimes it's more important to talk to them with attitude and passion than words.

I want to mock this feeling I want to deliver this passionate feeling, not words!

'You worked hard to become a nobleman, but your own descendants are all cowards and unadventurous rubbish. I'm sure they're laughing instead of crying behind the grass and leaves!

The nobles of this world take pride in being the descendants of adventurers...it's a setting. The academy teaches them that too, and some of them are respectful of their fine ancestors.

In the first place, it's the nobles of this world who yearn for the position of adventurer.

........What would happen if we encouraged them to do so?

Don't be ridiculous! My ancestors were more awesome than you are!

 I laugh like a fool.

'Yeah, that's awesome. But that means your ancestors are awesome, and you're not worth anything, what do you think about that? Come on, let them hear it. Tell them. Then put your hands on your chest and think about it. What would your great ancestors think when they saw you now? Come on, people, put your hands on your chest! Can't you hear me?

Some didn't do it, but many had their hands on their chests. Some of the sailors, and even some of the resident servants, had their hands on their chests.

'See, can you hear them giggling? Or are you grieving? Are you shrugging your shoulders in disgust? Are you guys ... not ashamed of yourselves? The descendants of great adventurers give up and throw away this much?

There weren't many people who could talk back.

Well, I'll laugh at you if you talk back.

"They're going after the enemy's banner. We're taking the princess and running. "Those who can fight, take up arms. If you don't fight, you're going to end up in the sea, where your ancestors will laugh at you. If you survive, you'll live to regret it.

 One of the boys shouted.

'Screw you, you son of a b*tc*! I'd have been fighting without you telling me! Hey! Give me your weapons!

Then the other boys show their stubbornness.

'Don't lick us who usually make money in dungeons. You've been slacking off, though!''
I'll do it. I'm not gonna die here!
I'll do better than you!

It seems that once the boys start moving, the girls have some oddities inside.

''........Hey, why don't any of the girls speak up?''

A girl with a vertical roll of hair that made her look like a young lady stepped forward, her hair swinging in front of her. She crossed her arms under her chest, displaying an imposing attitude.

High heels and bullish eyes. She was something of a queen-type senior.

''Could it be that the biggest fool in the school is going to fight, and he's not going to do anything about it? You're going to want to be stupid tomorrow.

The senior - the girl looked up at me.

'By the way, what are you going to do? Don't let me tell you that you can't talk this big and do nothing, okay?

I held the shotgun in both hands.

'Me? Of course you're going to get in.

 Senpai grinned.

''Oh, you're the biggest fool in the school, aren't you? Then you'll need some armor.''

 I say.

"I'm going to use all the armor for airship defense. I'm going to use my air bike.

Air bikes? Are you going to die?

Outside, there's a bunch of monsters and a whole bunch of duchy airships. I'm sure there's a lot of armor out there, too.

The armor is like a power suit, a flying weapon.

It would be stupid to charge into a place like that on an air bike.

'There's someone I need to help. And while we're at it, we'll take the flag and laugh at the duchy's fleet.

Angelica? Crony loyalty, right? You don't have to push yourself, no one would blame you in this situation.

Angie-Papa might be upset. But hey that's not what it's about.

"Loyalty? Wrong. For once, a man would like to be a knight in shining armor to a princess in a pinch, right? Me, even if I abandon you guys, Angelica I'm not going to abandon Angel. Because she's a good woman. Why don't you girls learn a little from her?

When I was taken hostage alone, all I had to do was tell them I had a baronetcy. That way, I wouldn't have been taken alone.

Being a hostage for everyone? I'm only sixteen years old. I'm scared of Angel Papa, but if I abandon a girl like that, I'll regret it for the rest of my life. In this rotten world of maidenhood, Angel and.......Angel is my hope.

The older man's mouth twisted into a crescent moon and he laughed.

''Good. You're so good. It's a shame I would have kept you by my side if you weren't Angelica's favorite. It would have been fun to train your cheeky attitude and make you pledge your loyalty to me. You'd make a great pet.

........This guy is a bad girl too. On a different vector, but I don't think I want to get close to her.

Thanks for that.

 Then I raise my voice.

'Are you guys ready to pick a fight with the Duchy!

As the heated hall exploded - everyone answered loudly, mixed with cursing at me.

 The airship's hangar.

When I stepped into it, the Luxion was waiting for me.

An inner suit of armor had been prepared for him to ride his motorcycle. When I put on the helmet, I would be dressed in a vest on top and thick cargo pants and boots underneath.

The inside of the helmet was linked to the air bike so that he could see the images around him.

'I'm ready.'

He was making a place for himself to fit on the air bike, and when he attached himself to it, he looked at me.

Straddling it, I grab the handlebars and blast the engine.

The hatch opens as the vibrations of the rampaging engine echo through the hangar.

The sailors called out to me.

'Are you sure you want to do this?!'

 I laugh.

'Of course. I'll pluck that messenger's beard and take it as a souvenir.

I'm going to make that beard of his pride and joy permanent.

I'd like that! Oh, maybe I don't want it after all.

Thumbs up to the nice-looking sailor and I kept my stance low and got out.

An air bike shot out into the sky, the air bike riding through the sky as if it were riding on waves.

As I held the shotgun I was carrying in one hand, the monsters gathered around Schwert's eyes.

'Are you ready?'

I'm ready for you.

I held the shotgun in both hands and held it up, while Luxion took control of the air bike - while he piloted the air bike.

'This is the best way to deal with small fry.

As a magic circle arose just in front of the muzzle, several more small magic circles arose. They locked on to the monsters looming in front of them one after another.

'Lightning attribute, scattershot, lightning--go ahead.'

Phooey!

When I pulled the trigger, a shotshell flew out of the muzzle of the gun and broke through the magic circle. Then the small shotgun shells inside popped off - just like that, they emitted a magical light that changed to a color called yellow or blue and forced them to change direction.

The monsters try to avoid the bullets, but the light chases and penetrates them.

The magic that spread out like fireworks was the perfect magic for a ranged attack.

The difficulty level is extremely high and there are only a few wizards who can handle it.

I laughed out loud as I defeated dozens of monsters in one shot.

''You see! Me and the power of Luxion. If we both work together, we can even use this awesome magic. I've only recently learned about it, though!

What if I'm the only one? Sorry, I can't. It takes a long time to activate, and it's tough to lock on to a moving enemy or something.

'Well, it's a seven to three ratio of cooperation.

'Why do you talk like you're working hard too, Seven? The ratio is seven to me and three to the Master.'

You're in a good mood, you interrupt me. You know, they'll be back next time.

...it's really rubbish.

He held up his shotgun, aimed again and pulled the trigger, and the monsters in front of him disappeared again in large numbers.

Chris climbed into his armor and watched Leon jump out of the way.

'You really took the lead?'

The airship turns and gains speed as it chases after Leon.

It was aiming for the hardest headquarters - the back of a giant monster with a banner.

At the sight of it, Chris grabbed the control stick of his armor.

''........You're strong.

If it was simple sword strength, he would be better than him, but looking at Leon now, Chris thought he was defeated.

Magic, and nerve.........everything was better than him.

It's not easy for anyone to charge in alone, even if they yearn to do so.

Rion seemed to be able to do that with ease.

Chris didn't have the guts to do it on an air bike.

'Can I be like you - Baltic Falt?

The amulet he carried around his neck was shaking.

Chris looked at the bouncers on the armor and the students.

'Our objective is to protect the airship. Defend it absolutely!

The six activated armor bodies start to move as the companions shout and close the chest of the armor. Once outside, Chris slashed at the monster that charged the airship, not Leon.

 His taiji was very clean.

As he advanced through the monsters and slashed them all down - the monsters turned into smoke and disappeared.

The students on the deck cheered at the sight of them.

Chris descends along the side of the airship and slashes through the monsters.

'I promised Baldfalt I wouldn't let them bring it down! We won't let them bring this ship down!

 The Principality's airship.

An alarm was sounding inside the ship.

Hertrude stood up and shook her long, beautiful black hair. She was dressed in a black dress, and as she approached the window, her handmaidens blocked her path.

''Your Highness, you shouldn't.''

Get back. See for yourself.

Angel, who was surrounded by knights, seemed to be curious too, so Hertrude called out to her.

'Angelica, you should come too. Apparently, your schoolmate has chosen to die with honor. Let me show you your last moments with your own eyes.

Hertrude looked at Angel's face as he stared at her.

 However, he wasn't fooling around.

As Angel stands up while being surrounded by the knights, the knights get into position to surround them as it is.

I went out and looked at the situation--.

 Hertrude's eyes widen.

''Nah!''

The luxury liner was facing forward. And it was coming towards us.

Hertrude had him bring the magic flute.

''The magic flute, quickly!

Angier glanced at the scene, then turned to the front.

The figure fighting in front of the airship was riding an air bike and releasing magic. The magic that attacked a wide area was very advanced magic.

''Fool. If you have that much power, you should have run away you really are an idiot.''

Tears welled up in Angier's eyes at the sight of Leon.

Hertrude mouths the magic flute as the maidservant brings it to her.

As a very strange sound echoed out, the monsters started to move in unison.

In front of such a scene, Angel was convinced of the dukedom's bullish attitude.

''So this is the dukedom's inner workings?''

Hertrude lets go of his mouth.

'Yes. The difference in numbers will now be overturned. The kingdom will sink.'

He declared that, but the monsters that had charged the airship disappeared one by one.

The students on board were desperately resisting.

They deployed their shields and unleashed their magic to reduce the number of monsters.

.........The emissaries of the Principality were foolish, but the knights of the kingdom were strong.

 Why?

He takes on dungeons in order to get them to marry him, and then he earns money and contributes it to the girls. He goes deeper and deeper to earn money, because by the time he graduates, he's got quite a bit of strength.

It's the result of all the blood, sweat and tears he's really put in to get girls to turn on him.

Ange felt his heart ache as he saw Rion running through the battlefield.

(We should have just abandoned him. You would have run away--)

He said he was aiming straight for his place...and he was hoping that Angel would come to help him.

In front of the desperately resisting airship, Hertrude bit her lip.

 Angel laughs.

'Sorry. The kingdom's nobles don't like to give up. You're right, I'm here to show my stubbornness. And although I didn't mention it in person, the man in front of me is Leon Fauw Baldfalt, one of the finest knights in the kingdom. One of the finest knights in the kingdom!

Balticphalt?

The man who had gone out on a messenger came to them.

'It's true that it's hard to give up. But that's as far as it goes.

As the messenger said this, the duchy's fleet took up positions around the airship. They are deployed in a figure eight to keep their allies out of the firing line.

The airships are surrounded by monsters and pointing their cannons at Leon.

 Hertrude glares at the messenger.

'Selfishly.'

To win. And there are plenty of monsters to go around.

The messenger smiled wryly, and hundreds of cannons were released at Leon and the luxury cruise ship as the monsters swept in.

Angier shouted at the bombardment that engulfed the monsters.

'Rion! Livia!

Ange is seized by the knights. The airship was enveloped in a huge explosion and black smoke.
