32-Episode 29 Understanding the Underground Labyrinth, the Strongest Onmyoji

The dungeon this is?

A dungeon is, as I recall, an underground labyrinth in which monsters appear.
It's not just a space, it must have been a place close to the Otherworld, where the core boss monsters, items and sorcerers are located.

''As long as monsters appear in a place like this, it's normal to think that way.
'Heh I see. I've never been in a dungeon before.

Then I sit down on the ground.
Amu looks down at it quizzically.

What are you doing?
I'm sitting.
Why?
'Walking around in the dark doesn't help. It will only sap your strength. We'd be better off staying put and waiting for help. Just to get rid of the monster's corpse and take away our scent.
There's no help on the way.

I frown at Amu when he says it.

"Why?
'I'm not going to go rescue anyone who didn't make it back from the dungeon. More people die from monsters attacking them than from being lost and alive.
'It's an adventurer's story, isn't it? We're students. We got wandered off here by accident.
It's even worse. We didn't come in the doorway, we were transported to an unknown dungeon. If the teachers found the magician's circle, do you think they'd follow us into the transition? You'll only add to the number of people in distress.
If you can analyze the magic circle, you can at least find out where it has shifted to.
'It's the same thing if you know what I mean. Maybe, but this isn't a guild-controlled dungeon. It's not even mapped, of course. Not even a professional adventurer would take on the task of suddenly going to a place like that to find someone in distress.
What are you going to do then?
'When you get lost in a dungeon, there's only one thing to do. Walk.

Amu holds out his hand to me.

'We have to walk and walk and find our way to the other party or the exit on our own before we run out of energy and strength. It's the only way.
Ha, it's hopeless.

I take Amu's hand and stand up, brushing the dirt from my pants.

I had hoped to spend a couple of hours watching the ground from my ceremonial vantage point, but..................Oh well.

We'll set a course of action.
It's good to move on. I'm not worried about running out of energy.
The only thing I'm afraid of in a place like this is death from lack of hunger, dryness, suffocation, etc. But I can survive on food, water, and air with a curse. I could survive for a few months with no problems.
If it comes down to it, I can hit the dungeon with a bunch of shikigami and find my way out of the dungeon to the ground. I don't want to do it too much, though, because it would be a waste of money.
That being the case, I'd like to save the Hitogata as much as possible.
There's one more thing I'd like to try.

Yuki.

In less than a whisper, he called out to Yuki.

'I don't want to use the formula too much. Can you ask for a spotter?
'! I've been appointed, Mr. Seika!

 Yuki replies happily.
The monster isn't much of a threat. Yuki's divine powers aren't flattering, but they're good enough for this occasion.
In any case, when it's this dark, only snakes or bats can use it. It's hard to handle, isn't it?

Oh yeah, speaking of dark, one more thing.

'Amu. Wait a minute.

He stopped Amu from walking away.

'You can put out the light of the sword. I'll take the light.

Then he sent a few Hitogata flying and turned on the light.
In the underground passage, which was much brighter than before, Amu said in surprise.

''Is this a spell? And you were able to use light magic?
Well. I told you, I'm a pretty good worker.

Amu let out a small breath.

'You have a better chance of surviving. Just a little bit, if only to make you feel better.'

Looking at the profile, I can't help but speak out.

"Amu, you look like you have no problem with this. Even under these circumstances.

Hearing this, Amu's eyes widened slightly and then he looked away.

''Well that's not true.''
