26 21: Go through the Glide Canyon.txt

The carriage from the Adventurer's Guild to Glide's Great Gorge had no top and was not a very comfortable ride.

However, they arrived at their destination much faster than if they were traveling on foot.

My fellow adventurers got out of the back of the car, and we got out as well, heading toward the hut where we were to stop.

The carriage that had sent us to the hut was already picking up the adventurers who had been waiting at the hut and heading back to the Ygghanotes.

This time it will pick us up here at nightfall. If you miss the ride, you will have no choice but to spend the night in the hut or walk home.

'We haven't been on this side of the road much yet, have we?

The Glide Canyon is said to have been carved out of the water that flowed out of Mount Yaweha, also known as the Southern Wall. I hear the amount of water in the canyon has decreased now.

Then Noelia pointed to a river running under the cliff.

It's definitely just one fairly narrow river.

'But they say that when it rains heavily on Mount Yaweha, it floods here. They say that every few decades or so, this great canyon fills with water.

'I can't imagine a canyon this wide filled with water.

The Great Gorge of Glide was wider and deeper than the canyon area near the King's Capital. It was an overwhelming landscape.

However, I didn't have time to enjoy the great nature forever.

I quickly pulled out a map from the porch and checked our current location.

To get to our destination, the Yasuba hunting grounds, we're going to follow this chasm in the Glide Canyon southward to the foot of the Yaweha Mountains?

"The monsters in Glide Canyon are less numerous than in the Fiendish Forest, so I don't think the danger is so great. The problem is the hunting ground of Yasuba, which is close to the Fiendish Forest, but I've been there a few times to ask you to defeat them, so I'm sure I can show you the way.

'Oh, thank you. If I can get there early with Noelia showing me the way, I'll have time to practice my magic in Yasbah's hunting grounds after I ask Gawain-san to make a sword for me.

Yes, sir. Then we should leave immediately.

We finished checking the map and decided to head south down the Great Gorge of Glide to Yasbah's hunting grounds.

The two of us walked meekly, with the canyon to our right.

I'm not a particularly chatty person either, but Noelia really doesn't waste time talking about anything other than magic or anything related to the request.

We were walking a little faster through the bushes growing above the canyon because of the time limit of returning by sunset.

But because of the size difference between me and Noelia, and our strides were different, Noelia was gradually starting to catch her breath and lag behind.

Just as I was about to wait for the lagging Noelia to catch up, I saw an object swooping towards her.

'Noelia, get down!'

'What? Yes.

Noelia reacted to my voice and quickly got down on the ground.

He is only an adventurer, so he seems to have immediately determined that something has happened.

It's a good idea to use it as a blade of air to cut through my enemies. The Wind Cutter.

The object that swooped down towards Noelia was a gale eagle (Gale Eagle).

It was flying in the sky and seemed to have recognized Noelia as its prey and swooped down.

I fired my Windcutter at the Gale Eagle.

My magic power sent the air-blade flying towards the Gale Eagle.

However, the Gale Eagle seemed to sense that the air blade was aimed at it and turned sharply to avoid it.

''You were able to avoid it.

'The Wind Sickle (Windcutter) works well on things that fly, but it's not a must.

Even Noelia, who was on the ground, seemed to have confirmed what was coming for her.

The Gale Eagle (Gale Eagle) did not seem to have given up on Noelia yet, and as it circled back up in the sky, it swooped down again.

'If your opponent is flying and quick, what magic would Flick-sama choose?

Noelia knew she was being targeted, but she didn't show any signs of panic as she asked me the question of magic selection.

However, I had a firm grip on my wand for protection, and I was ready to activate my magic at any time.

'So that's it with me. It's the invisible air. I'm not going to be able to get it right. It's not a good idea.

What?

The magic was activated and an invisible wall of air was created to envelop Noelia.

Originally, it was a magic that made the air tighter and created a wall to protect you against flying objects released by arrows and demons, but--

The gale eagle (Gale Eagle), which had descended rapidly, was crushed by its own weight when it hit the invisible air barrier (Wind Barrier).

''This is a must, right?''

'Yeah, yeah. Yes. This is the first time I've seen it used like this, though. It's true that it's quick and might be a must against an opponent who is attacking you from above.

Noelia looked surprised when she saw a crushed Gale Eagle (Gale Eagle) that had hit an invisible wall.

 Apparently, the answer was different.

If the other party would come up to me on their own, that would be enough.

Let's hear the master's answer to confirm it.

''In fact, what was the magic Noelia was trying to shoot at?''

'It's a storm (Gale Wind). Even though it's less powerful, I wanted to increase the width of the hit and knock it down with a surface.

'I see, it might be a waste if it's just a single person, but if it's many against many, it's going to save a lot of magic.

'No, but I learned more this time than you did. I'll have to write up the annotations when I get back to the house again.

Noelia stood up from the ground where she had been lying down and brushed the dirt from her clothes, checking the effectiveness of the air wall (wind barrier).

'I guess that meant it wasn't in common use: ......'

'What? Yes, we use it to dodge arrows and protect ourselves from flying objects, but I haven't seen anyone use it to protect us from flying demons swooping down.

Noelia, who had finished dusting off the dirt from her clothes, was taking a closer look at the crushed Gale Eagle (Gale Eagle).

She seemed to be checking the damage she had sustained when she hit the magically created wall of air.

"As a token of the master and apprentice system, I am Flick-sama's master, but I am learning a lot of things as well, so please feel free to use the magic I taught you without specifying its use.

Thanks to her, I was able to use magic, so Noelia is currently my master, according to the master-pupil system set up by the kingdom.

However, while she taught me the effects and spells of magic, she didn't elaborate on the general uses of that magic.

I was curious about Noelia's instruction, so I glanced at the young sorcerer I became acquainted with, and he said that the sorcerer who became his master follows the instruction manual if there is one, and teaches the use of the use of it neatly.

I'm not going to be able to get it right.

I'm sure you'll be able to find a way to use it in the same way as before.

I'm not going to be able to get it right.

I understand, sir. Well, I'm a little late, so let's get on with it.

Noelia, who had written down the effects the magic had given her in her notebook, held out the crushed Gale Eagle (Gale Eagle) to me and walked away.
