15 12: Road to bronze grade.txt

It had been over two weeks since Noelia had instructed him in magic.

'Ah, Fricke, hi. Are you up for the day?

'Huh? Isn't Master Noelia with you today?

As I entered the Adventurer's Guild, I was approached by a group of younger adventurers who had become adventurers of the same iron grade when I came to Yuguhanotes.

Looking at them as fledgling adventurers, I saw myself when I went out to King's Landing with Alfine and became an adventurer.

I was like that five years ago, too: .......

I remember forcing myself to buy a new sword as a sign of my promise, and I didn't have any money, so I remember cruising second hand stores, wearing torn leather armor and stuff like that because I couldn't buy new armor.

'Noelia left ahead of me to run an errand.

'What? I was going to eavesdrop on the magic lecture Master Noelia gives Mr. Flick.

The sorceress girl was apparently looking forward to a lecture from Noelia, who had recently started showing up at the Adventurer's Guild a lot to give me a lecture on magic.

Was that the reason why young sorcerers were hanging out in the Adventurer's Guild's waiting room these days?

It's true that Noelia's lectures are easy to understand, and she explains the effects of magic well, and she's supplementing the imagination needed for activation.

''You said it was because you were called in on some important business. Unfortunately, there's no lecture today.

d*mn, I was looking forward to this.

The sorceress girl drank the drink she was holding in her hand and then went to return the dishes.

''And even so, the amount protruding from that backpack (bag) is panicky, but ...... Flick-san, you're really making achievements at a panicky rate.

The boy, a warrior, rolled his eyes at the amount of today's debris I was carrying on my back.

'I'm stuffing my requests in because I want to get to bronze grade as soon as possible, and thanks to that, I can't blame him for the ridiculous amount of backpacks (bags) on my back.

I wanted to get up to the bronze grade by the end of this month and increase the number of requests I could receive to ensure that they were fruitful.

Noelia, who has become a master of magic, has also offered me assistance.

However, I had politely declined the offer, thinking that if I was assisted, it wouldn't be any different than I was when I was under Alfine's tutelage.

Therefore, I still have to buy all of my equipment.

And even though I've parted ways with Alfine, I still want to save up some money to make my dream of becoming an adventurer come true.

It may take some time to make a fresh start, but I'm going to work steadily towards making my dream come true.

'Seriously? At this rate, I'm really going to get to the Bronze grade in a month. I can still handle a single request in a day, though. Flick-san, that's really amazing.

'I'm able to do all this now that I can use magic. You couldn't do this if you only had a sword.

I've been taught a lot of magic by Noelia, and now I'm becoming proficient in the use of various attribute attack magic.

It's a good thing that you're able to handle a lot less burden in a battle against a large number of people, and you've been able to defeat more than planned.

'Everyone says that Flick-san has great magic, but his sword skills are actually quite impressive. I had a glimpse of Flick-san's swordsmanship, and it's not at the amateur level.

I've been swinging a sword since I was a kid. I think I'm as good as any man.

That's not even close to being human.

From his point of view as a warrior, I hear my sword skills are amazing.

I've been practicing on Alfine's training table for a long time, which was given the title of Sword Saint, so I have some confidence in my dynamic vision and defense.

Besides, he still continues to train himself daily, which he had been doing without fail since before he became an adventurer.

Alfine had a talent for swords, but I didn't have that sword talent, so continuing to try to catch up with her as much as possible has become a habit.

'I can only say it's a result of training. Even a mediocre talent like me can reach that level of skill through training.

You mean training? If I can be as good as Mr. Flick, I'll work hard at it. Well, I'm off now!

With that, the young warrior boy returned his dishes and walked out of the Adventurer's Guild waiting room.

As he was looking away, he was called out to Rebecca from the window.

''Flick-san, please come to the counter quickly. If you stay there, everyone will refrain from coming and the window will be crowded later.

More and more adventurers are talking to me, like the young adventurers from earlier, but the veterans are still scared of me, and are watching me from afar.

The line of adventurers who have returned from work has cracked open and formed a path to Rebecca's window.

''Sorry, I'll be over there in a minute.''

I slipped through the waves of broken people, put my backpack (bag) on the counter and sat down at Rebecca's window.

'As usual, I hear you're freaking me out. So that's it. Is it because I've been doing a lot of large-scale magic?

''That's right. He's a great magician with enormous magical power. It means everyone's life is spared.

'I'm not a dangerous creature or anything. ...... See, I've been able to control my magic properly lately.

Yes, I've heard those stories from Miss Noelia. I've heard that you used a large number of fire arrows to exterminate the Giant Ant in an instant, that you froze all the water in the pond to kill the Giant Frog, and that a huge tornado occurred when you were killing the Giant Bee.

Oh, I was just testing that one, but it's under control.

'Right. Everyone is scared because they can control it properly. Not only do they have a lot of magic, they can even use rare magic, and everyone's perceptions seem to have changed.

While chatting with me, Rebecca was counting the quantity from the backpack (bag) on the counter while inspecting the demon loot, which is the proof of having accomplished the request to defeat it.

It seems to be the view of veteran and above adventurers that mage flicks are bad, so it's best not to get involved. It's popular with the young fledgling kids, though. Besides, as an adventurer's guild, we have an order from the Count of the Frontier, and we won't put any restrictions on Flick-sama's activities, though.

I'm not sure if I'm a bad guy or not. ...... No wonder the veteran-looking adventurers don't see eye-to-eye with me.

It's a good thing that I'm in the middle of a trial and error process to see if I can make my magic more practical for the real world.

So it's true that sometimes a terrible magic is assembled.

'Oh, yeah, ...... I've never heard of that before now. I knew you were avoiding it.

Well, I've heard that you all have a lot of respect for Mr. Flick's abilities. A good adventurer is only as good as his abilities. All right, quantity check is done. I'll take this one and send it to you for evaluation. I'll pay you tomorrow.

Rebecca, who had finished checking the quantity, smiled as she held out the receipt to us.

'What's up? Are you that amused that I'm so freaked out?

Congratulations. Normally we'd be waiting for an evaluation at the end of the month, but with today's results, Flick's promotion to the Bronze grade is almost complete. Starting next month, there will be more requests for Bronze level adventurers. That's good. What a surprise, I'm the fastest adventurer guild in Yuguhanotes to be promoted to the Bronze grade.

The fact that he was able to use magic and had completed more requests to kill than planned seemed to hasten his promotion to the bronze grade.

'Oh, I see. I see... I'll be upgraded to the Bronze grade next month. That means I'll be able to enter the magical forest.

Yes, sir. So I have a little favor to ask of Mr. Fricke--

Rebecca beckoned her to lend an ear.
