838 Episode 0838

"Uh... Oh...?"

Inspired by the light falling from the window, Ray looks around him, not knowing for a second where he is now.
When you realize that you slept in a bed that was obviously gorgeous, and that you've never used before, including when you were on Earth, you realize where you are.

"Well, I suppose you ended up staying at the castle yesterday."

muttering, turning his gaze to the forefinger of his left hand, he saw a black ring, which, though it was still morning, seemed like a night.

"The ring of the new moon?" I haven't changed anything in particular."

Some ordinary magic items have the ability to disguise magic.
However, using such magic items with Ray's magical powers would not be effective because the magic items could not accept Ray's magical powers...or even destroy them.
It didn't feel real for Ray, who didn't have the ability to sense the magic, but after he was given the ring of the new moon, he tried another magic item with similar effects, and it collapsed because he couldn't accept Ray's magic.

"Anyway, I was very lucky to be able to mislead someone who has the ability to sense the magic by wearing this ring. It wasn't such a bad judgment to refuse the prize at the competition. If I had received that metal card, I might have been in trouble if I had received something else."

You take all your weight and mutter, enjoying the comfort of the bed, which is not only soft, but also moderately repulsive.
Last night I was asked by Trajist what he would do with the runner-up prize, but he turned it down because of the metal card issue.
Enjoy the feel of the bed while looking at the ring of the new moon.
There was a time when I slept in a detached building in this castle to guard Fritzione, but the bed in the detached building was just an ordinary one.
...even though it's the most ordinary bed, it's normal to the standards of this castle.
"The detached room Ray was staying in was used by Fritzione, where it was judged that he would never spend the night, so the beds in the detached room were not that high quality."
By comparison, this room where Ray happened was for the castle's guests... that's also for the highest level guests.
Of course the room had only the finest furniture, and it was the first time Ray had slept in such a bed.

"Can you give me this bed?"

As I think about it, I hear a knock on the door.

"Come in,"

Entering the room with Ray's words was a maid worthy of description.
I'm a little older than Ray for my age.
This maid is also the man Trajist put on Ray.
It was said that if she wanted, she would go out with her at night, but Ray couldn't make any sense of that in front of Vihela, and she was asked to work as a regular maid.

"Excuse me, Mr. Ray," "As for breakfast, I was wondering if Mr. Vihela would join me..."

Strangely convinced, Ray nods back to the name Vihela, not Vihela.

"All right. Do you have breakfast now?"
"No, it's been about half an hour."
"... of Vihela, and I thought she'd say she'd like to eat right away."

Ray's scratching words give the maid a small smile.

"Isn't Mr. Vihela prepared for dinner with a man?"
"Prepare, I said. If it's dinner, it's breakfast, right? I don't think we need to prepare that much."
"No, Mr. Ray," I don't understand women's feelings. Women should see themselves better and as beautiful as possible."

Vihela's feelings for Ray are already known in part because of her own attitude.
With Vihela's popularity, it's no exaggeration to say that this topic has once raced through the castle.
Among those who spread the rumor was Fritzione.

"I understand what you mean, anyway. If so, I want to get ready, so please prepare for it. And have you heard anything about Sett?"

It was of course Seto who was in trouble last night when Ray decided to stay at the castle.
Few in the castle have ever come into contact with the presence of a glyphon.
The few exceptions were those who had joined the Mercurio army, whom Ray had to take care of.
Seto, however, is much smarter than the people around him.
When Ray tells them he will stay at the castle, he lays down on the ground, heading to the stables he prepared.
Fortunately...or unfortunately, the horses in the castle had dwindled under the influence of the civil war, and they did not have to force Sett into the stables with the others.
When Ray asks what's going on with Seto, the maid smiles that nothing is wrong.

"I've heard that, for a human being, he ate nearly twenty people's worth of food for breakfast."
"...you're eating as much as you like."

I usually eat a lot of Seto, but I usually eat a little bit... that's about half the stomach.
However, perhaps because he judged that there was no need for such restraint, he was eating as much as he wanted.
It's not just food that ordinary animals eat, it's food cooked neatly by castle cooks.
The cook seemed dissatisfied when he was first told to cook something for the devil rather than for the man, but since he saw Seto eating in a good mood at last night's party, he has moved on to cook.

"In the first place, there were many people who recognized the Gryphon as a terrible monster, but when they showed their friendly appearance, they were eating very deliciously."

Knowing from the words that the maid in front of him was also one of Seto's people, Ray became excited with a story about Seto while dressing up.

"Have you kept me waiting?"
"No, I've just come,"

When Ray entered the room led by the maid, there was a figure of Vihela sitting in a chair drinking tea.
Being a former member of the Imperial family, it is safe to say that the manner in which one drinks tea is full of grace. Just...

(In the castle, and in the morning, this dress... is out of place, or rather exciting.)

Ray sits at the breakfast table, looking at Vihela, which is worn by dancers and prostitutes and is dressed in a man-inducing light.

"Good morning, Ray,"
"Oh, good morning," But what's the matter with inviting you to breakfast?"
"... you know, Ray's leaving the imperial capital in a few days, right? So I'm heading for Egzil. Is it that strange to want to be with someone you like even a little?"

The faces of the maids in the corner of the room shone as Vihela clearly tells her that she loves Ray.
Vihela is also popular with the public, as is Fritzione.
It was only natural that people should be interested in their love affairs.
It's the same with the maids who have led Ray to this point, and they have a silent conversation with their co-workers.

"... well, if Vihela wants it, that's all right."

Ray's muttered gaze was directed to the table.
In the Empire of Bestia, black bread is mainly eaten, but fresh white bread is in a basket on the table.
It must have been burned just before Ray came. Ray reaches for the seemingly delicious bread.
Vihela sees it and turns to the maids.
The maids left the room to bring food other than bread.

"And you're leaving the castle to-day, aren't you?"

Vihela asks, as if she had guessed she and Ray were the only ones in the room.
Ray nods back without hesitation to the question.

"Oh, he's already getting ready to come to Gilmoo with me after yesterday's feast. Fortunately, they are all from the imperial capital and surrounding areas, so it should not take much time to prepare."
"Yes. I'm going to go with you to the border, but don't you mind?"

Whether you're going to Egjil or Gilm, the road to the border is the same.
If that were the case, Vihela's maiden desire to be with Ray until then,
Noticing this, Ray nods without any hesitation, judging that there are more people than simply traveling alone... or that he wants to travel with people who know his mind.

"Oh, that's all right. It's just how to get in touch. I don't think it's possible to stay in the castle as it is... but the only inn I know in the imperial capital is a long-lasting empty house."Yuyu no Kutei is one of the best inns in the Westian Empire, not only expensive, but also not the kind of inn you can stay at without a reservation.

"Then what are you going to do? Stay at the castle?"
"Well, it's like looking for an inn somewhere in the imperial capital. Or, instead of helping them move to Gilmoo, I'd like to have them stay overnight."

When I tell them so, the maids with breakfast in their hands come into the room.
Place salads, soups, dishes and fruits on the table.
Some dishes are meat, but they're probably well thought out for breakfast. Steamed to remove excess fat and sprinkled with sauce that seems to have been made of some kind of fruit.
There were many other dishes made with fish, vegetables and eggs, all of which were refreshing to eat for breakfast. ... in a considerable amount.
Of course, this is because Vichela thought about Ray's meal and told the chef to make more of it in advance.

"Well, let's eat first."

 Breakfast begins with Vihela's words.
It's only cooked by a chef working in a castle in the Vestian Empire, and every dish goes into Ray's mouth.
Vichela, accustomed to seeing the scene, was having a conversation with Ray, but the maids didn't.
Ray's body is far from large, and his face can be described as a woman's face.
Regardless of his tone and character, he has the right appearance to enjoy.
It's only natural to be surprised to see such a person put two, three, or four portions of food in one mouth after another.
But Vihela smiles as she watches Ray eat one dish after another.

"You eat as well as ever,"
"The food here is delicious."
"Huh, thank you. I'll tell the head chef later."

It was strange in many ways to have a friendly conversation and still see the food disappear while watching.

"Come to think of it, I'm going to Egjil, but Ray is going back to Gilm?"
"Oh, that's what I'm going on. I mean, that's why they're getting ready, isn't it?"
"No, I know that, but... you're going to go to Guilm at this time of year, aren't you?"
"I suppose. Well, if there's anything left, it'll be a different story."
"Is it too much?"
"Well, for example, the Vestian Empire will attack the kingdom of Mileana again."
"No, I don't think so. ...though I don't think it's absolutely true, considering my father's personality. At least I don't think Mercurio will do anything about it."

Ray shakes his head at Vihela muttering a salad in his mouth.

"You know what I mean, right? Mercurio certainly won this civil war and gained the position of the next heir to the throne. However, it is the next heir to the throne. In other words, if the present emperor tried to do something, he would try to stop it, but he could not stop it for sure. and the present emperor is a hard-liner against the kingdom of Mileana."

 That's an irreversible fact.
Indeed, Ray succeeded in creating what he called the pro-Milliana faction within the Empire of Bestian Empire.
It is also centered on those who are in the position of the next heir to the throne.
However, if the emperor, Trajist, were to wage war against the kingdom of Miliana, Mercurio could agree but could not be forced to stop it.
If it were to stop, it would be a repeat of the civil war ahead.
...but the other party is not Schles, but a trajist. I'll be the emperor himself.
It would be almost impossible if you were asked if you could beat the trajist.
If they do so, the Imperial army, which they did not touch this time, will turn into enemies, and there is no doubt that other nobles will turn into enemies as well.
In other words, it's not the kind of civil war that happened this time, it's the kind of civil war that could be called a race, and it's the kind of civil war that could kill all the losers.

"...I pray that it won't happen."

I heard Ray muttering at breakfast...Vihela nods back to it.

(If that happens, I suppose, I shall be a threat to the rear of the Empire of Bestia.)

That idea came to Ray's mind, given his ability to specialize in individual destruction.
